Weekend Review

I'm a little late on sharing our weekend, but it was a big one. It seems like a lot of us did the same thing! We started off with a very early soccer game. And I think we have the best soccer picture ever:
T's friend wasn't going to let anything by her! I laughed when this one uploaded.
I also met another blogger - Kat from Southern Bourbon Mountains! We used to say we knew we'd made it in Charlotte when we saw someone out that we knew. So maybe I've made it as a blogger once I've met another blogger? She was just as awesome as her blog.

We followed up soccer with baseball (and N scored a run)! Baseball games are long. And baseball games with a 4 month old and 4 year old, very long.
We headed to the pumpkin patch down the road Sunday with the rest of the city. I've never been when it was so crowded (but awesome for the family). The farm land is being sold to developers (for apartments most likely, which will surely improve the terrible traffic around here) so we have to take advantage of every trip here! Side note - the part of the family that runs the farm doesn't want to sell but the land is owed by many siblings.

Before the farm opened, we ran into the family and they mentioned there was going to be a firetruck at the farm this year. Well they meant a fire truck that you climb to get to a slide!! How awesome - the boys were not disappointed. They even had dress up gear ready (although I cringe just a bit anytime my kids put on a communal hat - lice for everyone!)
We had slushies, doughnuts and funnel cakes (yes plural). The doughnuts were amazing (and all six were gone before we left).

The corn maze is the boys' favorite activity.

Our last activity was going into the patch for the perfect pumpkins. I woke KC up for the pictures - she was not thrilled. I'll be trying to recreate this before Halloween is over.

She has already caught on to the pumpkin spice craze:

KC turned 4 months Saturday. We broke out the exersaucer and it was a hit. Another milestone down - toe sucking last week, exersaucer this week!

And completely out of order but Sunday morning, N took his first communion. He has been in a special Sunday school class with other first graders and parents to help understand church customs and traditions. He made a chalice, painted it, and at this service we walked up with him and the minister poured grape juice in his creation and handed him bread for his first communion. It was a really sweet moment and he was so mature.
The non-cooperative kid is in the background.
N called this KC's olden times look. She pooped through everything except the bonnet by noon.
Could this picture be any fuzzier? It was the only one I have to capture the service. Ignore the shoes, apparently he has outgrown his nicer shoes.
And even more out of order, Chris' birthday was Friday. He turned 34 which is almost 35 which is almost mid-thirties (we love Jessica Simpson, although she said it about the twenties). T and I made a cake, which we didn't eat until Sunday because apparently on your FRIDAY BIRTHDAY you work until 10:00pm (no one was happy about that). T loves to help me get to "the licking part."
So there it is, our weekend, birthday, soccer, baseball, communion, and pumpkins. I hope your weekend was great, and your week is going well!

  1. That is the best soccer picture ever! And such a good picture of you and KC! Where is that pumpkin patch? We still need pumpkins and I'd rather have a fun day out of it than stop by Walmart :)

  2. So much happening!!! Love that y'all's pumpkin patch had the pumpkins out in the fields rather than all piled in the entrance. Ha! That's how all the patches are here. Very disappointing. Glad you were able to get a few shots of the communion. Mmmm cupcakes with chocolate!
